Background to Tess Elsen

Tess Elsen was born in Canada, educated in the UK and has over 20 years managerial experience in sales, marketing and training in the Insurance, Wholesale, Manufacturing and FMCG industries in both the UK and South Africa. Tess first came to South Africa in 1992 to start a training company for small and developing businesses.  Having attended a personal transformation course in 1994, Tess spent 2 years perfecting her skills as a facilitator and transformation trainer, focusing on attitude and behaviour development.  Using T.A (Transactional Analysis), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), and drawing from her extensive experience in group dynamics, Tess developed her own personal transformation workshops in 1996.  She has also been involved in Motivational Speaking for various companies and organizations in South Africa and Europe and was a guest speaker at the Women in Leadership Conference’s in Durban and Cape Town in 2002.

Tess is an NLP Practitioner, Business and Life Coach, and trained South African Lifeline Counsellor.  Tess spent time in the USA in 1999 training to become the first Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus workshop facilitator in South Africa.  She attended a Personal Success Seminar with Dr John Gray in San Rafael, California, and is a member of the Mars Venus Institute.

Tess returned to England in February 2000 to join FranklinCovey Europe Ltd, initially as a Leadership Client Manager, working on the transition of corporate accounts from the Licensee network in the UK, to the stewardship of FranklinCovey Head Office.  From September 2000 she took over stewardship of business development in Northern Ireland and London, and won a place at the FranklinCovey International Presidents Club in 2001 and 2002 for exceeding the revenue expectations.  During this time Tess attended The Life Coaching Academy (UK) to become an Executive/Life Coach.

Tess returned to South Africa in 2002 as her love of the country and desire to contribute to the continued growth of the New South Africa were compelling.  Her work as National Sales Manager and Facilitator with one of the largest HR solutions providers in South Africa, has allowed her to develop her sales, training and facilitation, and managerial skills further, and given her a strong understanding of the NQF, Saqa and Seta regulations regarding skills development, and the South African Market.

Tess now runs her own successful Consulting Business and Coaching Practice.  Her Coaching Methodology is focused on identifying and achieving desired outcomes, and is very effective for both individuals and teams.  (Please request more information if interested in learning more about this)
