The purpose of coaching?

The purpose of coaching is to facilitate growth. Helping teams and individuals to move out of the comfort zone and into the learning zone, unlocking potential and possibility for the client.

If you are committed to achieving better results in any area of your life, you will find that working with a coach and getting vital support, motivation and feedback can be the difference between greater success or just maintaining the comfort zone.

“Coaching is unlocking people’s potential to maximize their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.”

What is coaching?

Coaching is a form of development in which a coach supports a client in achieving specific personal or professional goals.

Coaching helps improve work performance, boost confidence and build effective communication skills.

Coaching focuses on the here and now and aims to unlock a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is focused on helping the client to learn and grow through powerful questions and reflection.

Coaching works on identifying and overcoming barriers to success that may be subconsciously holding you back.

Coaching provides a process and framework to move out of the comfort zone and into the learning zone, unlocking potential and possibility for the client.

Coaching is also used to improve application of learning following a training or learning intervention. It is useful in integrating new skills and theories into the workplace in practical ways.

Client Testimonials

Don’t take our word for it – here’s what our clients say:

So as part of building its organizational effectiveness through the people and shifting and ushering a new culture in the company, I worked with Tess over several months not only being a participant in the broader company wide project and also being coached her. She is a great coach who ably and effortlessly ask penetrating questions to enable clarity and bring tangible benefits to both the individual and the organization. Tess brings a wealth of experience to the table and has pleasant, patient but a no nonsense approach that delivers results. To build new insights and to grow you won’t miss a a step with Tess on your side.

Dr Jerry Gule

CEO at Institute of People Management

The time I spent working with Tess lead to the highest growth period of my career enabling the attitude and approach to get two tech start-ups off the ground and running. Through an easy and enabling series of engagements Tess helped me identify my blind spots and turn these into positives that I could fully manage. I improved my ability to think strategically and view things from all stakeholders perspectives and utilize this insight to look for better win/win outcomes.
I would not hesitate in recommending Tess to anyone looking to grow themselves as individuals and leaders.

MD at LulaBet

I have had the priviledge of working with Tess Elsen during the rollout of a Leadership Development initiative at Discovery a few years ago.

Her impact as a facilitator was profound – not only were the ratings exceptionally high, but otherwise resistant learners were assimilating the info with ease and enthusiasm to the extent of making it part of their teams’ modus operandi.

I also know Tess to be an exemplary organisational development specialist. The depth and breadth of her skills is incredible. She is a thought leader in this field and is always eager to share of this knowledge and experience freely.
